Autumn arrives in the outer archipelago. Nature calms down. The sea air is cool and crisp.

Our trip goes through the Hitis archipelago, along the most sheltered route towards the outer archipelago and Bengtskär lighthouse.

Bengtskär lighthouse is the most impressive sight in the Southwestern archipelago of Finland. Its massive stone walls have witnessed some of the most dramatic events in history of the country. For over a hundred years, the lighthouse has guided seafarers along safe routes.

During this day visit, you will become acquainted with the history of the lighthouse and the nature of the archipelago. On climbing the tower and reaching the top, you’re awarded with a stunning view of the surrounding archipelago and the open sea. During the autumn migration, the lighthouse island serves as a popular resting place for many bird species.

For lunch we serve Bengtskär's own fish soup made from local fish, archipelago rye bread, butter and water. For desert coffee and freshly baked cinnamon bun. Other beverages available from the café.

• Duration: day trip, approx. 5,5h

• Tour dates: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 2025. September 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 26th.

• Price from 74€ /person, children 3-12 yrs from 45€, children 0-2 yrs 7€ and dogs 7€.

• Included: boat trip from Kasnäs, guiding, entrance fee, lunch, coffee/tea and cinnamon bun.

• Café and souvenir shop at the lighthouse. You can pay with cash, debit card, Visa Electron, Visa, Master and EuroCard.

• Departure harbour: Kasnäs at the southern tip of Kimito island. Address for car navigator: Kasnäsintie 1294. Free public parking 300m before the harbour.

• Weather reservation: Severe weather prevents going to the lighthouse on average 4 days/month in September.

• Wilson Charter reserves the right to make changes regarding cruises, schedules, etc.

• The payment will be refunded if the Autumn trip needs to be canceled.

• Boat is equipped with toilet.

Making a reservation

Boats can be fully booked, so we warmly recommend making a reservation.

When you reserve the trip, start by selecting the number of people. The green days on the calendar are still available for the number of people you chose. Select a day, and press the Reserve button when the departure time is displayed.

Your booking will be added into the shopping cart, and you can make additional reservations in the online store. When you're done, click on the basket and press the Checkout button. You find the shopping cart to the right in the upper menu bar.

Know before you go

• We kindly ask all passengers to be at the departure pier at least 5 minutes before departure. The vessel departs from the harbour at the scheduled time.

• Driving time to Kasnäs by car: approximately 2 hours from Turku, 3 hours from Helsinki, 4 hours from Tampere and 6 hours from Jyväskylä. Please note that the last 20 kilometers to Kasnäs are along a narrow and winding road, with several stretches limited to 60 km/h. Allow time for parking. The vessel departs on time, and late arrival does not entitle to a refund. Free parking is located approximately 300 meters from the harbour.

• The crew speaks Finnish, Swedish, and English.

• At the Kasnäs harbour you will find a spa, restaurant, grocery store, and guest marina services.

• Booking your trip

  We recommend that you book your trip in advance through our online store to secure your place.
  It is also possible to join the trip without a reservation and pay onboard, but only if there are available seats.
  The crew checks bookings from the passenger list. No printed ticket is needed.

• The vessel is Sissel.

• The vessel has stairs and thresholds and is not fully accessible. A few steps are required to board. The crew will assist when needed.

• Please note that scheduled departures are considered public transport, and maintaining distance to other passengers during the trip may not be possible.

• Your booking is valid for the reserved departure time only. The ticket can be changed or cancelled according to our cancellation policy. We recommend travel insurance in case of sudden illness or unexpected obstacles.

• The kitchen at Bengtskär can accommodate the most common mild food allergies during all meals, provided we receive the information at least one week before your visit. You can notify us of any allergies in the “Additional information” field when booking.

• We sometimes receive questions about whether the trip will go ahead several days in advance. However, we can only confirm this on the evening before departure, once weather forecasts have become more accurate. Please note that weather conditions may still change unexpectedly overnight, and the trip may have to be cancelled on short notice.
